When a dumpster makes sense

A dumpster is the right tool when debris comes out a little at a time:

  • Remodels where a kitchen or bathroom is torn out over several days
  • Roofing jobs where shingles come off all at once and need somewhere to go
  • Big cleanouts where a family is sorting a house over a week or two
  • Landscaping and yard projects that produce brush and debris over time
  • Contractors who want a container on site for the length of a job

When junk removal is the better choice

If the pile already exists, or you would rather not do the lifting, our crew is usually the better fit. We load everything ourselves and leave the same visit, with nothing sitting in your driveway. That is junk removal, and it covers single items from $25 up to full truck loads. Some projects use both: a dumpster during the project, and a junk removal pickup for the bulky items that do not fit or are too heavy to lift.

Before your dumpster arrives

  • Pick the spot. A flat, firm driveway is best. Keep the area clear of cars, low branches and overhead wires.
  • Check the rules. Street placement may need a city permit, and many HOAs have rules about dumpsters. Ask before delivery day.
  • Load it evenly and keep debris below the top edge so it can be hauled safely.
  • Keep heavy debris separate if asked. Concrete, dirt and roofing are much heavier than household junk, so ask before loading them.

What can’t go in

The same safety rules apply as on our trucks. Paint, lacquer, chemicals, thinners, fuels, asbestos materials, and fuel and waste storage tanks cannot go in a dumpster. Our page on what junk removal won’t take explains where those can go instead.

Where we deliver

Dumpster Rental questions

What size dumpster do I need?
It depends on the project and how heavy the debris is. Call (407) 710-8601, tell us what the project is, and we will tell you which size fits and what it costs.
Is a dumpster or junk removal cheaper?
For a single pile, junk removal is often simpler because we do the loading and leave the same visit. For a project that produces debris over days or weeks, a dumpster can work out better. Our junk removal vs dumpster rental guide compares them.
What can't go in a dumpster?
Hazardous materials stay out: paint, lacquer, chemicals, thinners, fuels, asbestos materials and fuel tanks. Ask us about anything else you are unsure of, like tires, mattresses or appliances.
Can the dumpster go on the street?
A dumpster on a public street may need a city permit, and many homeowner associations have their own rules. A driveway is usually the simplest spot. Check with the city or your HOA before delivery.
